Extra time added to the end of a task or project to account for unexpected slowdowns or delays in work progress.

Types of scheduling buffers:

• Task buffers
• Project buffers

• Extra time added to a specific task
• They should be used primarly for tasks that are out of the project team’s control

• Extra time tacked onto the end of a project
• Used instrad of adding extra time to every task
